Marinika Maratovna Babanazarova - art critic, director of the Savitsky State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan since 1984. to 2015, now the chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. During the directorship of Marinika Babanazarova, the museum received world fame and the metaphorical name "Louvre in the Desert" - for a unique (second in the world) collection of Russian avant-garde in a place unexpected for foreigners.
